SUMMARY:Gun Violence Prevention (GVP) Shabbat Service
DESCRIPTION:Steve Dettelbach\, Director of the Bureau of Alcohol\, Tobacco\, Firearms and Explosives will join us to share his perspectives on the important role of the ATF in helping to fight our national gun violence epidemic\, especially the scourge of illegal gun trafficking which exacerbates the proliferation of guns in our cities and communities. \nDuring our GVP Shabbat\, we also plan to light candles in remembrance of the more than 40\,000 Americans killed each year by gun violence. We’ll remember and highlight the 10th anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting in Newtown\, CT\, the 4th anniversary of the Tree of Life synagogue mass shooting in Pittsburgh\, as well as the daily\, multiple gun homicides in our DMV area and nationwide.
