Students and parents will have simultaneous separate sessions: \n\nAdults will have time for Q&A about antisemitism in schools and what they can do about it in their role as parents\nTeens will have a separate session where they will experience ADL’s “Words to Action” program\, wherein they will learn skills and tools for speaking proudly about their Jewish identity and standing up against bigotry.\n\nAgain\, this program is for parents of students grades 6-12 and all high school students (middle school students will remain in their normal Noar classes). This program is brought to Temple Sinai by way of our participation in Kulanu\, ADL’s nationwide synagogue initiative to fight anitsemitism.

SUMMARY:"Join or Die" Film Screening
DESCRIPTION:Join or Die is a film about why you should join a club — and why the fate of America depends on it. \nIn this feature documentary\, follow the half-century story of America’s civic unraveling through the journey of legendary social scientist Robert Putnam\, whose groundbreaking “Bowling Alone” research into America’s decades-long decline in community connections could hold the answers to our democracy’s present crisis. \nFlanked by influential fans and scholars — from Hillary Clinton\, Pete Buttigieg\, and Surgeon General Vivek Murthy to Eddie Glaude Jr.\, Raj Chetty\, and Priya Parker — as well as inspiring groups building community in neighborhoods across the country\, join Bob as he explores three urgent civic questions: \n\nWhat makes democracy work?\nWhy is American democracy in crisis?\nAnd\, most importantly… What can we do about it?\n\nFollowing the film screening\, Rebecca Davis\, co-director of the film\, will lead a brief discussion and Q&A.   \nThis program is co-sponsored by the Davis Center and TSWRJ.  Please register in advance. \n[button link=”https://templesinaidc.shulcloud.com/form/join-or-die” color=”black” newwindow=”yes”] Register[/button]
